Balloons and Tunes
The girls and their friend, Sydney, went up to Macon for part of the Cherry Blossom Festival. This night music and hot air balloons were on the schedule. People packed into the park to picnic out and listen to live music.

Once the sun set, the fun began.
The hot air balloons were tethered and lit up with gas. They glowed in the dark.

The weather was awesome. The temps have been in the 80's with clear skies. They all enjoyed themselves listening to music, eating and hanging out together. Feels like summer is already here.

Blooming
Everything is starting to bloom around here. The cherry blossoms and pear trees have already bloomed and have turned green. Now the rest of the trees and flowers are coming back to life.
This is the crape myrtle that we removed from the front of the house and planted it in the back yard. Immediately, it died so we thought we did all that work for nothing. But my reassuring neighbor said, "You can't kill a crape myrtle." And sure enough, he was right.
The trees are turning green.
My birds of paradise are coming back.
I'm not sure what these bushes are called but they are pretty when they bloom.
I bought a Priscilla for my front door. It's so pretty and brings a lot of color to my entrance.

Hoops
It was so warm today with a high nearing 90. It's still technically winter people! It made for a beautiful warm night. We all had fun shooting some hoops and enjoying sisterly love.

Will she make it?

Oh Yeah!!

It's a Good Day When...
the IRS sends you an apology letter!
"Thank you for providing us with additional information about the issue we recently wrote to you about. We are pleased to tell you that, with your help, we were able to clear up the differences between your records and your payers' records. If you sent us a payment based on our proposed changes, we will refund it to you."
WooHoo!!!!!
We won the nine month audit battle! I never want to go through that again. I'm so happy that I had all my paperwork in order and I'm so thankful for the internet to research from. It is a good day!!!

What Would You Do...
if you found $20 on the ground? That's what Kiera asked herself at school one day when she actually found $20 on the ground. She immediately turned it in to her teacher. She was awarded with a free kid's meal from Chick-fil-a for having initiative (I would go on to say integrity and honesty)! Way to go Kiera!

Go Heels!
Charlie and Shannon, aka Little Buddy, went to the Carolina/Florida St. game last Wednesday. They had great seats and a lot of fun.
It was a nail-bitter the whole game. Every point counted.
Carolina won in the last seconds!!! Yea!!

The team warms up.
Huddle up before the game begins.
Charlie and Little Buddy had so much fun. They also toured around Tallahassee, played a lot of pool and reunited with old friends.

ATL Baby
We drove up to Atlanta on Sunday for a special church service that we were invited to. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The skies were clear. It was warm. And the trees were blooming.
The city sat perfectly in front of us.
You can see the Olympic torch left from when Atlanta hosted the Olympics.
The traffic was horrendous on the way home. It was bumper to bumper, stop and go for miles.

Curves Update
Jas was seen by an orthopedic today to get a closer look at her scoliosis. He took more x-rays and made some measurements. He said the curves are not so dramatic to need a brace or surgery. He said since she is still growing, they will keep a watch on it and to come back in three months for repeat x-rays. So that's good news.

Curves
The kids had a scoliosis screening at school. This was a first for them. They had never had their backs looked at in Dodds schools. While Maya and Kiera were cleared for scoliosis, Jas needed another look at her back. A letter was delivered to our mailbox stating that our physician needed to run some more tests. So we had some x-rays ordered. Low and behold she has quite a curvy spine:

The nurse said there are two curves, one is 26 degrees and the other is at 30 degrees. She has been referred to an orthopedic for a further look. She may need to wear a brace for a while or she may need surgery. After our appointment on Tuesday we'll know more of what her options are.

Daddy/Daughter Dance and Valentine's School Dance
Yes, Charlie's angels have grown up. They are no longer babies. They all had their first real dance at school and also got to dress up. Charlie and Kiera went on a daddy/daughter dance put on by her school. And Jas and Maya went on their first middle school dance. They all had a great time and chatted about it all night. They are all so beautiful.

I love this shot of my girls.

Teen Devo Dance Off
Teen Devo
We had an awesome time hosting our teen church devo this weekend. In total, we had 16 teens and 6 adults in one house. The party kicked off with a couple of bocce ball games and time on the trampoline. Once everyone arrived, we moved the party into the kitchen where everyone made their own pizzas. It was a big hit.
The kids migrated to different rooms where they could watch movies, play games or play Just Dance on the Wii. I think this is where everyone opened up and really enjoyed themselves.

Even the big kids had fun.
Get down John. Show your moves!
There was even a little strategic gaming going on.
It really was a great night. Can you believe we had so many kids and not one drama moment? These kids really know how to have fun.

Man Cave
Charlie got the itch to work on finishing up his man cave. He decided to rearrange the furniture. So that meant he had to re-route the cable. Thankfully, he learned how to do this with his job. No need to worry about cutting holes in our walls, he has it taken care of.
But the cable was hanging just a bit too low. Charlie's arms were too big to fit in the hole. So I gave it a try and stuck my arm though the hole to see if I could fish out the cable.
Nope, we needed someone who was just a bit smaller than me. It's good to have kids around the house so they can do your dirty work for you.
Kiera's arm fit and she was able to pull the cable out.
Charlie's man cave is mostly finished. He still needs to paint the walls. He has the color picked out, he just needs to take a day off to put it up on the walls. But you can get a good look at our mostly finished product here.
