On our first day in Washington D.C. we went to the Smithsonian Museums. We checked into the National Museum of Natural History first. It was huge inside. 3 levels of bones, animals, gems and fossils of every kind of living organisms ever made.
We checked out the dinosaur bones first.
Could you imagine this animal roaming the earth today?
Then we checked out smaller animals. It was neat to see what they looked like under all that fur.
The large animals didn't seem so intimidating like this.
We even found the girls' cousins!
This sea turtle was huge and looked amazing.
We had a great time even though we didn't get to see everything. The museum was crowded with it being 4th of July weekend. We only hit the most interesting spots and decided to bypass the rest for another time.
