Maya had to make a 3-D organ for science class. She decided she wanted to do a heart. After searching the web, we found a great template and decided she (we) were going to make it out of rice krispie treats and fondant like they do on Cake Boss. I went shopping and gathered all of our supplies. The next day Maya brings me her rubic stating what needs to be included in her project, and in big bold letters it reads, "Do Not Use Food". Ugh, I could kill. Maya refused to use playdough. So we were back at square one. She searched on the web for some ideas and found a working lung that she can make. This is what she came up with:
It actually works. When you pull the diaphram down, the lungs fill with air and when you push it up, the lungs exhale. You can also blow air into the straw to get the same effect.
